New Folkschool photos

Last week, I went back up to the John C. Campbell Folkschool for another week of photography classes. Larry Hunsucker taught the course and it was a wonderful macro-photography workshop. The other six people in my class were so friendly and we all learned a lot.

We studied the basics of aperture and shutter control, composition, light and shadow, and printing. The bulk of the week was spent at the folkschool, shooting on campus and the surrounding trails. We did take a short ride over to Fires Creek for some water shots. We did not really go into Photoshop very much, so these images have only slightly been altered....no major changes to them, in general. You can click on the images below to see a slightly larger version.

Memorial Day on the Flint River

I was joined by nine friends for a very relaxing weekend of canoeing on the Flint River. The weather was wonderful and the water was clear and shallow. Photos are available here.

John C Campbell Photos

I took off recently for a week of photography at the John C Campbell Folkschool in Brasstown, NC. I was taking an introductory class to the macro and the wide angle lens. I will be going back later this summer for a more detailed class on macrophotography. Here are a few of my photos. You should be able to click on them to see the larger version (hopefully).

More storms

Last night was a another night of big storms. Just south of me, many homes were damaged or destroyed overnight due to either tornados or straight-line winds. Fortunately, no damage was done to my property; but lots of wind and lightning.

I am really tired feeling this morning, due to repeatedly being woke up by the storms. Hopefully, I can get a good night's rest tonight.
