I was digging my way through a box of junk in the top of my closet and I came across some slides that I took in 1999 in Costa Rica. I was very excited because I thought that I had lost them. Unfortunately, my exuberance quickly died down when I drug out my trusty slide projector, set up the screen and took a peek. These were the out of focus, bad composition, and generally poor shots. I am still on the lookout for another box that has about 80 of the better quality slides.
Oh well. Here is a shot of me that is slightly out of focus in front of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. We hiked up the desolate lava fields by day amid the rumbling and occasional trembling of the volcano...and at night we were treated to red lava flows near the top. But alas, those shots, along with all of my monkey, frog, rainforest, beach, and other such "good" shots are still missing. One day, I will find them.
Sorry for the photo quality. It was a bit out of focus to start with, and I do not have a slide scanner...so I took a photo of the projection screen. How bad is that?

I'm sure they'll turn up when you least expect it :)
Wow that is cool that you found these. Looks like a pretty amazing place there.
