What a beauty!

After a couple mile walk around the Ocmulgee National Monument today with my friend Bonnie, I was hoofing it up the hill to my truck, when I came across one of my favorite native bushes...especially in the fall of the year.

The American Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) is dripping with purple berries this time of year.

Back to work tomorrow!

I've never been to Ocmulgee Monument...actually, I never had even heard of it until now. One more place added to my list of "things to see". Beautyberries are indeed pretty...we have them up this way during the summer...not sure if there are any blooming here now.

Oh I love these beautyberries! We have some of them near my office at work, and I discovered them for the first time a couple of years ago. A lovely autumn/winter surprise.

Thank you for saying good-bye at flying. The link to my other blog is in my name if you care to stop by, I'd love to see you.
