Redbuds
In the woods around here, the redbud trees are blooming left and right! I have never figured out why they are called redbud trees, as that neither the buds, nor the flowers are really red. More of a pinky purple.
Redbuds can be found throughout the Southeastern US. They are a very common small tree in the woods. They typically bloom in March. There are also domesticated varieties that you can purchase in garden centers and nurseries.

We have a redbud tree in Virginia, but its blooming is usually over by the time I get up there.
I am getting married next march and would love these branches to use as decorations. where might you suggest I look for them next year?
